Water Resources Engineer: TGS is seeking a Water Resources Engineer for our Cary, NC office. The Water Resources Engineer will perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and design in support of projects in North and South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee.  A high level of experience with preparation of NCDOT level bridge and culvert survey reports and roadway drainage design are a requirement.

Job Responsibilities: Qualified candidates will possess a BS in Civil Engineering plus a minimum of 5 years of experience (North or South Carolina experience a plus) in one or more of the following technical areas: hydrology/hydraulics; computer waterway modeling, water resources engineering; watershed studies, stream and wetland restoration, highway drainage, storm water management, and water quality BMP. The candidate shall have a North Carolina Professional Engineering license and shall have experience working with the NCDOT Hydraulics Unit. The candidate shall have working knowledge of Microstation, Geopak, HEC-RAS, and related hydraulic design software.

Duties

Traffic Engineer

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or Journalism preferred. 5+ years hands-on marketer with experience in production, leading and managing the proposal and interview process. Proficiency with MS Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe CS4 (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop). Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must, including meeting facilitation, writing, editing, spelling and proofreading. Must be detail oriented and quality conscious. Quick self-starter, team-oriented and able to work with different personalities and professional styles. Ability to handle pressure and tight deadlines and make independent decisions critical to job success. Flexibility, organization, and planning skills extremely important. Hydraulic Department Manager:  SEPI is seeking a Water Resources Engineer for our Raleigh, NC office.  The Senior Water Resources Engineer will perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and design in support of projects in North and South Carolina for our Raleigh or Charlotte, NC, office.  Desired candidate must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or 12-15 plus years of experience in design and management of NCDOT related hydraulics. Experience with preparation of NCDOT level bridge and culvert survey reports and roadway drainage design are a requirement.

Job Responsibilities: Qualified candidates will possess a BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering plus a minimum of 10 years of experience (North or South Carolina experience a plus) in one or more of the following technical areas: hydrology/hydraulics; computer waterway modeling, water resources engineering; watershed studies, stream and wetland restoration, highway drainage, stormwater management, water quality BMP, and erosion sediment control design. The candidate shall have a North Carolina Professional Engineering license and shall have experience working for the NCDOT Hydraulics Unit. The candidate shall have Rosgen Natural Channel Design Coursework (Levels I-IV). Working knowledge with Microstation V8i and Geopak, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, TR-20, TR-55, GIS, and related design software required. Must have the ability to immediately work in the United States.

Environmental Department Manager to manage the company’s environmental services operations.   Position may be located in either our Raleigh or Charlotte office.  Candidates are desired to have a bachelor’s or greater degree from an accredited college or university in environmental science or biology and at least 10 years plus experience in environmental studies and projects with state and/or federal agencies. 

Job Responsibilities: This person will collaborate with senior leadership team to create corporate strategy, direction, and tactics.  Serve as technical expert and project manager for: Natural Resources Inventory; Surveys and biological assessments for Protected Species surveys; Jurisdictional Determinations (wetlands, stream and NC riparian buffer rules) and packages;  NEPA documentation; Phase I Environmental Site Assessments; and, Section 404/401 and NC riparian buffer permit applications.    The person will provide QA/QC overview for: Natural Resources Technical Reports;   Surveys and biological assessments for Protected Species surveys;   Jurisdictional determinations (wetlands, stream and NC riparian buffer rules) and packages; NEPA documentation;   Phase I Environmental Site Assessments; and, Section 404/401 and NC riparian buffer permit applications.  A good working relationship with federal and state regulatory agencies is required.  Existing working relationships and familiarity with policies and procedures with state Department of Transportation and other federal and state government agencies are required.  This person will set project and staff priorities, including project deliverable schedules and task/project responsibilities.  The ability of mentoring and training of staff is important.  Assist with business development and the preparation and coordination of proposals for the department.

Seeking a junior to mid-level Electrical Engineer with facility design experience. Experience in the design of power distribution systems, grounding, lightning protection, and fire alarm systems, including equipment selection, sizing, and/or specification is desired. Design experience should include preparation of electrical engineering calculations and production of one line diagrams, panel schedules, motor elementary diagrams, power plans, grounding/lightning protection diagrams, and fire alarm system device layout.

o   P.E. preferred or working towards P.E.

  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer (Temp to Perm)

Seeking a junior to mid-level Instrumentation & Controls Engineer with strong control systems design experience.  Individual should have commensurate experience in process and facility control specification of sanitary and industrial grade instruments, pneumatic and electronic instruments and control devices.  Design experience should include (but not limited to) PHD’s, control panel design, ac & dc power distribution, I/O systems, control system network diagrams, pneumatics, and industrial wireless systems.

 

DCS & PLC programming experience preferred.
