Lake Tillery Bridge Project
NCDOT PROJECT B-4974 / 15BPR.43 - LAKE TILLERY BRIDGES REHABILITATION
North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Project B-4974/15BPR.43 involves rehabilitation and replacement of the superstructure on Bridge No. 830051 (B-4974) and rehabilitation of Bridge No. 830050 (15BPR.43). Bridge No. 830051 is an historic multi-span reinforced concrete open spandrel arch bridge with a total length of approximately 1100 feet. Bridge No. 830051, adjacent to the arch bridge, is a six-span continuous steel I-girder bridge with total length of approximately 1140 feet. The pair of bridges carry NC 24 / NC 27 / NC 73 over the Pee Dee River (also known as Lake Tillery) in Stanly and Montgomery Counties. NCDOT had completed the design plans for the project and chose to deliver the project using the design-build method. Three speakers will present the following information on this unique project:
Jason Doughty is a Senior Associate and the North Carolina Regional Director for Modjeski and Masters, Inc. Jason has 23 years of bridge engineering experience and is licensed in NC, SC, and NY. Outside of the office he is active in his local church and enjoys spending time with his family while walking on the greenway, reading books, and coaching youth sports. |
