    Job Description
    Do you have experience in the environmental consulting field? Are you a team player who can also work independently? Are you a customer-service minded person who can adapt and adjust schedules to meet client and project needs? Do you enjoy working outdoors as well as in an office setting? We are seeking a Project Level Engineer / Scientist to join our Environmental Services Group in our Durham/RTP, NC office.
    Required Qualifications:
    • Four-year degree in geology, environmental engineering or related degree
    • 2-8 years of experience in the environmental consulting field
    • 40-hour OSHA Hazwoper Certification
    • Experience working with GIS
    • Current Professional Engineer or Geology License or on track and motivated to obtain licensing

    Skill Requirements:
    • Knowledge of chemistry and earth sciences
    • Ability to work in the field/construction sites and in a professional office environment
    • Travel to local and out of town project sites with overnight stays
    • Ability to assist in the development and implementation of work plans
    • Strong internal and external written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong computer skills (MS office, Adobe), research and organizational skills and writing/communication skills 
    • Working knowledge of State and Federal environmental regulations
    • Familiar with the process of using environmental risk regulatory calculators
    • Assist Senior Project Manager with various duties such as:
      • Managing subcontractors and related invoicing as well as proposal development and client invoicing
      • Specification development and implementation
      • Vapor intrusion mitigation system design, installation oversight and effectiveness testing
      • Corrective action design and implementation

    Duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments including the collection of soil, groundwater, soil gas, indoor air, sediment, and storm water and using various drilling/sampling methods
    • Drilling/Laboratory oversight and management
    • Corrective action implementation and oversight
    • Facility decommissioning and demolition/construction oversight
    • Health and safety plan preparation, implementation and monitoring
    • Tabulating and interpreting field and laboratory test results as well as report preparation
    • Project Management assistance
