    HDR is looking for a Transportation Planner to join our team in Raleigh, NC. They will support engineering and planning staff on state and local transportation projects. Under general supervision, day-to-day responsibilities will include:
    • Preparing Community Characteristic Reports, Community Impact Assessments, and Indirect and Cumulative Effects Reports for transportation improvement projects;
    • Analyzing potential effects of transportation plans on the human and natural environments;
    • Collecting, assimilates, and manages project related data;
    • Preparing constraints mapping and required documents;
    • Preparing environmental impact assessments for transportation improvement projects;
    • Writing technical reports;
    • Analyzing GIS data layers;
    • Participating in public involvement programs.
    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
    • 0-5+ years’ experience with transportation/environmental planning and design required.
    • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
    • Essential requirements include effective technical writing and communication skills, familiarity with GIS Applications, and basic knowledge of transportation and environmental planning principles
    • Experience with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), environmental permitting, community impact assessment, and / or public involvement programs is a plus.
    • Preference given to local candidates
