Professional Bio
This year marks a milestone I’m both proud and humbled to share—50 years in the engineering industry. It has been an incredible journey filled with challenges, growth, and countless meaningful experiences.
With 50 years of experience in public and private sector infrastructure projects, I have built a career deeply rooted in construction-related services across a wide spectrum of project types, including buildings, highways, bridges, airports, water/wastewater treatment, and site/civil developments. My professional journey has evolved beyond technical expertise into a strategic focus on the business of engineering—striving to enhance the financial performance of engineering firms in an industry traditionally centered on technical execution.
I served as Executive Director of ACEC/NC, where I championed the business interests of private-sector engineering firms and led advocacy efforts on behalf of the profession. My leadership extended to Board service, including roles as Vice President and PAC Champion for ACEC/NC, as well as service on the State PAC Board of Trustees. Nationally, I contributed as a member of ACEC's Executive Committee during my presidency of the National Association of Engineering Council Executives (NAECE).
In January 2024, I re-entered the industry with The Wooten Company in a business development and management consulting capacity, continuing my commitment to helping firms better serve their clients and improve performance.
Driven by a personal mission to serve clients professionally and support the growth and success of those I work with, I remain dedicated to advancing the industry through both leadership and collaboration.
