Professional Bio
John has 36 years of design experience. He joined
WEI in 1997 after seven years with NCDOT’s
Structure Design Unit. Since then, he has expanded
his experience to include foundation design and
designing different types of bridges on various
types of substructures (such as steel plate girders,
prestressed concrete girders, cored slab, and box
beam superstructures). John is also knowledgeable
in the design of retaining walls, culverts, hydraulic
structures, structural retrofi ts, and foundations.
John has experience performing analyses on steel,
prestressed concrete, reinforced concrete, and timber
bridges
